300 Bones at Birth

Short Interesting Facts About Us, the Human Body & More…
Did You Know That…
A baby has about 300 bones at birth, but as an adult, they only have 206 bones.
The reason is that some of the bones in a baby are made of a material called cartilage, which is soft and flexible to start, and over the years as the child grows, the cartilage grows and slowly hardens into bone.
This growth process ends between the ages of 17 and 25.
